Quandary Peak, with its towering heights and unparalleled views, was the perfect choice. Their day began in the early hours, well before dawn, as we met at the trailhead at 3 AM. The dark, quiet trail added a sense of anticipation and excitement to the journey, and despite the early start, the temperature was surprisingly comfortable.
Hiking in the dark was a unique experience—our headlamps casting small pools of light on the path ahead, with the vast, starry sky above. As we climbed higher, the first hints of daylight began to appear on the horizon, with the faintest rays of the sun starting to illuminate the sky. By the time we reached the summit, the sun was just beginning to crest over the distant peaks, painting the landscape in hues of pink and orange. It was a moment of pure magic, and we had the entire summit to ourselves.
With the world at their feet, Angie and Shea exchanged vows in one of the most breathtaking settings imaginable. The only witnesses were the towering mountains and the early morning breeze. After the ceremony, as we made our descent, we were lucky enough to spot a group of mountain goats grazing nearby—another reminder of the wild beauty that surrounded us.
